Driver Running Stop Sign Hits, Kills Bicyclist In Armour Square

Officers cited the driver for failing to stop at a stop sign and driving on an expired license without insurance, police said.

1 through 3 -- he will plead to one or two of them and be fined.

4 -- nothing, just an unfortunate accident.

You'd think that driving on an expired license with no insurance and then running a stop sign would constitute “willful or wanton” disregard for the safety of other drivers and lead to a charge of reckless driving, boosted from a misdemeanor to a felony because of the great bodily harm caused to the victim. But I guess not.
