Is anyone else freaked by how close the new south bike path is to oncoming traffic, with only a flimsy-looking metal barrier between us and the way-too-fast traffic? All the beauty and calm of the gorgeous path and landscaping up to around 47th St. is wiped away as I hold my breath waiting for some cell-phone wielding driver to lose control and crash through the barrier... then there's the upcoming wet/icy season...

BTW, I also drive LSD, and notice there is virtually no speed control anymore. The new average speed is 60, and drivers routinely go 70+. Does anyone know if this is being addressed?

Yep, on Wednesday evening (6:30ish) there was a lady driving on the bike path by Pomagranite (spelling?) point. She managed to get out on some driveway that exited on to the road... a cop was driving by, also on the path, looking at her with scorn and disdain. She almost hit me.

Do you mean Promontory Point by Hyde Park? Yikes!

Yeah, that place.
