Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)
My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.
Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane
With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming
#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)
#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.
We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

Did you get the name of the trucking company? / delivery service?
No visible name on the truck. Even the license plate was pretty hard to read.
am I crazy for not minding when work trucks/vans are parked in the bike lane for a bit?
Where are they supposed to park? They are just doing their job.
At the end of the day, were in a city...we have to share everything with other people.
They can park along the curb if available. If not, then (illegally) double park in the right vehicle lane. Why is not OK to block the vehicle lane, but acceptable to block the bike lane and force cyclists out into traffic?
^^^ This. And the trucks at Alfa Restaurant Supply are especially egregious as the business has a loading dock and parking lot.
I guess I get that the bicycle lane is perceived as 'lower traffic' and that we're more maneuverable and able to pass in the car's lane so there would be a real reason to block the bike lane rather than the car lane if the choice is only between those two options.
But - I would argue that in most instances there are OTHER choices including parking a little further away and simply blocking either traffic lane out of convenience and laziness is simply rude and disrespectful. Worse, it potentially puts me into harms way as I maneuver around in traffic that may not be thinking a few steps ahead to see the obstruction in my lane when theirs is clear. The point of the dedicated lane is that its 'dedicated'.
Putting even a large measure of 'convenience' ahead of even a small measure of 'safety' seems like an unacceptable trade to me?

Agree.
I routinely come across trucks unloading in bike lanes next to empty curb spaces or at buildings with loading docks right around the corner. As somebody who used to do motor vehicle deliveries in the Loop and elsewhere, I have no tolerance for this.
