The Chainlink

So for those of us doing the century this Sunday we are going to meet at the corner of Lawrence/Ashland at 7:05 AM to ride down to Evanston at 7:15. I already warned one chainliner that I will still be in my pj biking gear at that hour . My cell is 773-965-3396 so call me if you decide last minute you are coming or not. We leave at 7:15 with or without you though... I may have snacks with me if you are nice (and hungry).

I know!! It didn't burn off until after rest stop 2 (I have no concept of time on the ride). I did the 100 and let me say a big thank you to the village of Glencoe for paving your streets!!! After those awful suburb roads that 1/2 mile was a welcome relief.

I got a late start and decided on the metric century instead. Sorry I missed everyone! hope you have a good, safe ride! It was pretty foggy out in some of them parts!
Had a nice 75 mile ride (round trip). The fog was crazy this morning, a few bad roads, but a nice ride overall. I am doing Apple Century next weekend. If anyone is going to Apple Century and wants to meet up, send me an email.
I ended up with a large group consisting of Chicago Cycling Club Wednesday nite roadies and some Turin guys. Had an awsome fast pace, but we also had way too many mechanical issues along the way. One flat, one broken spoke and one cassette being cashed!!
Somehow, I didn't see any of you there. Boo. It's probably my religiously held belief that bike rides really shouldn't start before 8. I mean, I got there by 7:30 or so, but we didn't leave till 8:30; had to get breakfast and coffee! But ended up putting in 129 miles riding up from wicker and back. Great day for riding! Feel like I could do more. Anyone know of a double century around here?
Yesterday was fantastic! I clocked 115 miles and averaged 13.5 MPH. We had a number of hiccups at the start and I finished at around 7:15 PM (yes it was dark and they left our certificates for us). We took some great pictures at the start (attached hopefully). I wiped out once but that's not too uncommom for me. Three cheers to Ryan who singlehandedly did the midnight Marauders and the Century with no nap in between! Kelly was a good daughter and went home with her father who was having bike problems around mile 18. Evan left us early which was probably a smart thing since he had to make dinner with his folks. My family came out at mile 88 and my nephews main question was , "Did you see anyone else get hurt?" I did have 2 deer run miss me by about 10 feet though!

Haha, I talked to Ryan that morning. I must say that I did not notice any writing on the backs of his calves, though I wasn't exactly looking for it. Is he on here? What's up, Ryan? Still planning on e-mailing you, I'll get that sent today hopefully.

Aww. Sorry I missed y'all, but I'm glad to hear that a good time was had by all.
Ryan is in the blue shorts.

Yeah, I know; I recognize him, as he is an acquaintance of mine, though Sunday was the first time we'd spoken since last fall. When I said "Is he here?" I meant "Is he a member of this web site?" not "Is he pictured in any of your photographs?" Sorry if that wasn't clear.
