The Perimeter Ride has been going for a solid decade and is an important first century for a lot of people who might not try such a thing without the CTA bail-out option. Also, it's awesome! Nature trails, oddball sights along the way, interesting food options and an easy pace for the moderately hardcore.
The venerable John Greenfield has been running it all these years, but he wants to step away and focus on developing new rides which will surely be fantastic. Stay tuned for those, he's got some interesting ideas up his sleeve.
So--folks who love the Perimeter Ride, let's keep it going! Weigh in here and we'll hammer down the details and post it as an event.

Fantastic! This is going to be great. Once we do a pre-ride, we'll know what times to suggest folks try to meet us up at various points.
Cool Duppie. Been thinking on the start time, would like to get things going by 8:30. If some folks can't make that, we can post the ride map and they can try to intercept us... Starting point, how about Buckingham fountain? End point, How about Cal's? They are open till 3am Sunday morn...
The Rainbow Cone is open thru November, according to their website: http://www.rainbowcone.com/Rainbow_Cone/FAQs.html
Well, if we play with the start point, we can make the timing work out differently, too.
A possible alternative to Rainbow is Horse Thief Hallow Brew Pub and BBQ. The problem is they might not be open in time for the ride...
BTW, Rainbow Cone after Labor Day weekend is closed for the season.
I could be wrong about that. I will check in with my Beverly contacts to know for sure.
Let's announce 7:30 or 8:00 and then plan to actually roll out sometime before 9.
Also--we don't have to start at Wicker Park--could meet anywhere, really.
September 29: avg high 69; avg low 48; sunrise 6:46am; sunset 6:35 pm. Temps in the 60s sounds a lot more attractive and you are likely to get more riders.
What time did you suggest starting in Wicker Park?
If October seems to late, how about the 29th of September?
The 2nd Saturday of September is out, Riot Fest and the 3rd Saturday is Marauders...
I'm with Kevin. October might be too late. Hanging out at Calumet(?) park or Rainbow Cone isn't that attractive when the temps are likely to be in the 50's
I would say no later than 4rd weekend in September (Saturday September 22th). Any later and I expect the turnout to suffer.
