The Perimeter Ride has been going for a solid decade and is an important first century for a lot of people who might not try such a thing without the CTA bail-out option. Also, it's awesome! Nature trails, oddball sights along the way, interesting food options and an easy pace for the moderately hardcore.
The venerable John Greenfield has been running it all these years, but he wants to step away and focus on developing new rides which will surely be fantastic. Stay tuned for those, he's got some interesting ideas up his sleeve.
So--folks who love the Perimeter Ride, let's keep it going! Weigh in here and we'll hammer down the details and post it as an event.

Im out for the 18th, I work until 9:30.
I know it's a Marauder's night, but does anyone want to do the south by south west pre-ride next Saturday the 18th of August? The 25th I will be down state checking on my hop crop and communing with my guns...
Pre-Ride! One must be done in August!
Thanks, Dubi! Looks great!
I just RSVPd.
I express many thanks to those of you who put this together. It'll be my first perimeter ride and I'm totally looking forward to it!
Behold! It awaits approval!
I'm out for labor day, maybe some individual discussions of each area would be good for planning out the pre-ride.
I'm not superstitious about Labor Day, but I'm also down for riding some Saturday or Sunday in August, too.
I'll go ahead and make this an event page tomorrow with for the 29th and an announced start time of 8:30 am at Buckingham Fountain unless there's any further debate on those points.
I'll make a public event page on facebook with few details pointing to The Chainlink page as well so we can spread the word far and wide.
Can anybody come up with an image to go with these pages? I kinda suck at that stuff unless it's a straight up photograph.
