Perimeter Ride 2012 Planning Group

The Perimeter Ride has been going for a solid decade and is an important first century for a lot of people who might not try such a thing without the CTA bail-out option. Also, it's awesome! Nature trails, oddball sights along the way, interesting food options and an easy pace for the moderately hardcore.

The venerable John Greenfield has been running it all these years, but he wants to step away and focus on developing new rides which will surely be fantastic.  Stay tuned for those, he's got some interesting ideas up his sleeve.

So--folks who love the Perimeter Ride, let's keep it going!  Weigh in here and we'll hammer down the details and post it as an event.

Oh, right--I'll fix that now.  We're posting the meet-up time as 8am to get more daylight hours out of the deal.  Try to get rolling as close to 8:30 or so as we can.

I meant the actual ride.

For the pre-ride?  Let's try to get started close to 8:30 so we get a good idea how long the actual ride will take to get from place to place.

Is the start time still up in the air?  I believe the event listing has a date but no time.

Ok, let's do it Saturday!  8am Buckingham Fountain.  Bring snacks!

We'll head south, and finish as much as we can while we have daylight, then schedule another day in the next week or two to daylight ride the remaining part of the route.

Holler here if you're in, and we'll make sure to exchange phone numbers before the week's out.

Is there a decision on the pre-ride day? The 2nd conflicts with the "Get the Crown" ride.

I'm waiting to hear back about babysitting Labour Day Weekend so I'll know which day I'm free to do the pre-ride of the south and west.  Should hear soon...
