What about the guys at Spiteful Brewing who also brew the Ghost Bike Pale Ale? I worked with Spiteful for a fundraiser for Ride of Silence this past year...  Or Half Acre? or Goose Island? (both of which already support bike events)

Awesome find! I'm sure we can drum up funding if we can get the breweries on board. Would any one have contacts within the breweries? Or, Garth - any tips on how to go about getting them onboard?

Hey folks, Alan Lloyd, Ed Skelly, and I were down in Indy for their annual Tweed Ride last weekend and we came across these anti-dooring beer coasters (on the right) sponsored by Sunking Brewing. IndyCog, a hybrid of The Chainlink and ATA, is the bike advocacy group down there.

I'm wondering if this is something we could do with the support of Revolution, Two Brothers, or some other bike-oriented brewery. In fact, isn't the owner of Half Acre a design guy?

I finally figured it out - we have the email info@lookchicago.org. If any one would like emails forwarded from this to their personal address, let me know!

Tom - would you be willing to take the lead on signing us up for the app?

Yes, Katie, some sort of email address for the group would be terrific. I didn't want to create a gmail address if we could create an info@lookchicago.org address from our domain, but anything would work for getting the group listed in Steven's app and elsewhere.

I went downtown today and met with my long-time credit union, to set up a free checking account and deposit the check from Iowa.  The credit union wouldn't set up anything without our first having a "dBA" (doing business as) licensing from the state, at the very least.  I'm reading as much as I have time for as to the steps in incorporating as a 501c3 not-for-profit-charitable organization, so that our donors can get tax credits.  It looks like some paperwork from the Secretary of State's office, plus 50 bucks, gets us incorporated, which shields all of us participants from any individual liability that may arise.  Then an application to the IRS gets the nontax status and the state just takes the feds' word on that part.  I'll keep working on that as time allows, but the $100 check remains uncashed, I'm afraid.

Hey Tom - SOrry for the gross delay. Good find on the app. We don't have an email address set-up, but I think there is an easy way to set up a gmail one and have it forward to our respective inboxes for tracking (or, for checking responses.) SHould I go ahead and set-up?

Aaron: I just left you a phone message, but I'll toss this out to the group.  Steven Vance's new phone app, the Chicago Bike Guide, has space to list advocacy groups like LOOK Chicago!  Here's the submission form:  http://www.offlinebikemap.com/2013/submit-your-chicagoland-bicycle-...    I got stumped at the point of filling in an email address.  Do we have some generic email address like info@lookchicago.org or lookchicago@gmail.com to use, so we don't get individually spammed?

We definitely will need help at these events & need someone willing to make a high resolution version of our logo - any takers?
