I put in a call to "Arrow Checker Cab" to get a manufacturer/wholesaler for these mirrors. I apparently need to speak with "Anton" who is not at work today. I'll update after I talk to him.
YES! I've even seen them placed lower. But same principle.
Serge - YES! I saw a cab with such a mirror too! Great idea...
@jeff - can you send me verbiage you have used in your outreach? I'd love to contact IGO this week.
Elizabeth - Awesome though on flyering near the crash site.
TS - Awesome job on the Evanston outreach!
JH - No worries on the decal, I think. We can use the one developed by CDOT.
NY Decal Update - NYC DOT folks said those decals are proprietary, so not available for sharing :((
Hi all... I had started the discussion on Chainlink about the crash at 1400 N. Milwaukee... http://www.thechainlink.org/forum/topics/cycling-crash-at-1400-n-mi...
There have been a few updates, including a fundraising page started for Dustin who is a survivor.
Maybe our flyer distribution should be nearer that location - Wood and Milwaukee.
Just had a pleasant phone conversation with Don Wilson, my 4th Ward Evanston alderman. He's an avid cyclist, so he gets what we're doing. I filled him in on what we're attempting to do in Chicago, he seemed interested, put me in touch with a local cycling activist named Natalie Watson. Details on the "Alderman" Excel spreadsheet--I added my Evanston Ward after the 50 Chicago wards.
Update: I told another cabbie about the group, he is happy to get involved and help educate cabbies. His name is Finn, I have his cell and he is also a member of Hailo.
