Has anyone tried a winter-specific shoe? I bought my cyclocross/MTB shoes a half size large so I could use a sock system or potentially even heated insoles (my goal is to be able to do 40 mile rides down to 20 degrees or so). However there are a lot of insulated shoes made by Lake, Specialized, Pearl Izumi, Sidi, etc. that are built up with neoprone and such, and have fewer vents at the front of the shoe. Has anyone tried these? Seems like an expensive alternative to just a neoprone shoe cover... but I'm a roadie, so of course I'm looking for cool toys.
