What every happened to the 2nd Friday of the month Chicago Critical Mass Happy Hour?

Meet me at the corner of Clark and Washington (S/W corner of plaza) as soon as riders start hitting the street if you want to help at the front.
This month we need to try to keep things moving at least a little. The front should never stop long enough that the rear catches up completely and has to stop, except maybe just once at the outset. We can't completely occupy the oncoming lanes for most of a ride again.

Good stuff.
FYI Chuck definitely no longer has any remnants of his south side route-- lost/trashed in his last move.

In case of misinterpretation: "brought many of us to the fray" is a good thing, simply means got us involved.

That process of spotting and encouraging potentials is part of what brought many of us to the fray. I'm really happy with the recent rounds of newbies. I've said for many moons that Dubi's a candidate.
Chuck may have a southside route, unused from a prior month.

Yeah I do. Will be reaching out to Joe now.

We could also just have a no-map month if nobody new steps up-- as long as you have a solid crew in front the lack of a map does not guarantee a bad/disorganized/chaotic ride.
As far as getting the word out about getting involved-- traditionally the "elders" would spot potential new investment and approach people and urge them to get involved, and offer support as needed.
That's how I came to help plan a CM for the first time. Nobody has anyone in mind?

I don't see how a CCM ride would be very effective in protesting the wars...even chants and what not rarely make it very far in the mass as it is so huge.

Perhaps next month could just be a ride to interesting places? Maybe ride West and go through Garfield park and end at humboldt park? Heck, maybe we should just end in Jackson park. I'd like to check it out.

I really don't think that I am up for making a map or leading this one as I'm a little burnt out on it and am kind of feeling a lot of annoying at many participants in the ride. I need a good, easy going CCM experience to rejuvenate myself.

If anyone who would like to lead the ride would like to get some balloons for their helmet, just let me know.

So, chainlink... How the hell do we get the word out about the contest?
