The ride left around 6:10. It was the smallest ride in above-freezing temps in at least 6 years-- I counted 100 as I left just north of the Gold Coast. There was a serious police presence-- at least 12 bike cops and the ride was followed by 2 wagons. I didn't notice much spirit coming from the participants-- it seemed mostly quiet.

did the ride happen? I had a friend that was at daily plaza and didn't see sny other riders. If it did happen, what time did it leave?

(don't know why I'm so nervous to announce) I plan to be broadcasting as usual on http://massup.us (the text messaging chat thing). But I just added a slew of new features, including an auto-responder for location, weather, chatter, etc. Been running OK a few weeks, tested on iPhones, T-Mobile, Verizon. Should be considered beta, but please give it a whirl so I can get more providers confirmed working.
Bottom line: text ? to ccm@massup.us
Also responds to 773-33-MASS-8 (773-336-2778) but I'd rather use the email, since everyone's phone seems to be able to text to an email these days. More info: http://massup.us/m

FYI:
Hi,

My name is Peter Kepha and I'm co-founder and creative director of Chicago Urban Art Society in Pilsen a non-profit gallery.

We are having a Day of the Dead celebration this upcoming October 29,30,31st. and I'm creating several altars to celebrate the lives of our lost ones in tradition with the holiday.

With this said i was planning on creating a installation of 6 -8 ghost bikes that I have 4 of so far and have already painted white.

What I'm asking if you would like to participate with images and names..or some other ideas you might have..

I will be installing the show next week..and only have 1-2 days to do so..so if you can get back to me asap we can further discuss.

Thanks..Peter

I think the arrest story is in Don Sorsa's post on the main forum.

Ah so an automobile operator was arrested. Anyone arrested for suspected possession?

I'm thinking someone got arrested at North and Wells? Some guy in a a 2000ish Honda? came out of the alley just past Halsted and nearly hit me as he went around the "corker" then actually did run into one if not 2 or 3 bikes then it looked like he got punched in the face, that's when the cops showed up, and we were herded.
