it really starts when people show up.. but it is a good idea to put a start and end time... hinse the unrealistic idea of it going to 11am... :)

hmm... I tried posting a link but they didn't show up... Me and my pals posted a map and flyer for a fundraiser for the pedicab shop.. A place for the independant pedicab operators to come and be able to fix their cabs with the proper tools. Also we would love to raise the awareness of pedicabs being on the street. Please send us your crippled and ill and we shall make them passengers as well ;-), but seriously.. if you have someone who cant ride mass this month.. we would love to take them. Hope you like the route and come out and support the cause... thanx jbl

Attended my first Mass a couple of weeks ago, what a fantastic time!! I try to do one thing a week by myself just to experience the city in a different way and CM was my solo activity that last week of August. Couldn't have gone more splendidly - fascinating people watching, friendly strangers, rampant diversity, overall joyful spirit. Came home and couldn't let the feeling go, that's when I stumbled upon Chainlink. Great resource! Enjoying becoming more a part of the biking community.

ChicagoCriticalMass.org has been improving internally and externally significantly, but gradually. Until recently, need didn't demand. Items as significant as the mailing list join form are new this year. A ToDo list is in work including system upgrade and new features such as forums.
Bike Geeks meeting planned tonight (Monday) after 6:30pm at Mercury Cafe.

Also, I just updated the flyer retrospective.

THANX EVERYONE! My gratitude is infinite for the privilege of fielding this massive thing.

Wall is nice because it sorts new to old, or post-ride discussion could be appended to 8.28 route planning thread here.

But don't forget, one can post/maintain ride reviews (and potentially comment threads.... I've posted my post-ride wrap notes and some followups there.

...enjoyed it but understand how it wasn't so enjoyable for many others.

I actually mostly enjoyed the ride. Although worried it would get done too soon, it ended up at just about the right time thanks to the detour and bottlenecking.
I think things really went awry going south on Halsted and then south on Canal. Right about then I tried to get to the front and take control but the front was really this spread of dudes on all sorts of hip bikes--fixies, dirt bikes, etc. The real problem was that people followed them and too much of the mass got ahead of the responsible ones "in charge." I think calls for Mass Up were too little too late.
I might be interested in planning a route for next month. I'll try to post an idea in the next few weeks.
