Tony, what do you think about trying to drum up support for this and see who you can shake out of the trees among far north siders?
Would be nice to 'decentralize' the planning . . .

Howard;
What makes you think that I know how to shake up people.

As far as Street conditions I do know which one's to stay away from. ( oh that just might all of Chicago) OOPPS! !! There I go off.

So, What had happen to Devon Ave. being the ending point ?

If Spencer reached out to Jeremy and the other Mount Happy folks or Rebecca or Judah or any number of other Pilsenites that regularly attend CCM then I think Howard's criticism is overblown.

These are all folks that have brought their instruments out to play while riding and have often accompanied whoever I have performing on my trailer. If on Spencer's prodding any of them decide to make a map then a big thumbs up for me.

Not to mention there are a ton of Anarchists who regularly ride and have never participated. And who knows if any of the groups I have or will reach out to have regular CCM riders in their groups.

So I guess the question I have is, who are you talking about? Who are these riders you would rather see participating and making maps?

But cannot anyone "participate in and love CM?" Inviting groups in Pilsen to participate may foster the love and investment in CM that you want. Beyond that their experience with the area will obviously lend itself. Working Bikes is in Pilsen and I would consider them to be a community group.

Who determines who the group of people are who are not "outside?"

I agree. I have already sent an email to a couple groups in Pilsen who are involved in the May Day march. I'll let ya'll know more when I hear from them.

I'm sorta in the middle of this discussion both as a matter of subject and opinion. I agree with Howard that I should not make the next couple of maps, but not because I am choking out other map makers. Rather it is because I prefer not to lead rides. It's terribly boring and usually the same people are at the front. With that said, I will be encouraging Pilsen community groups to make a map and host an event next month in honor of May Day (THE VERY NEXT DAY) and if they bite I'll help anyway I can.

On the real subject at hand there will be more to come...
