i'm very new to chainlink and awfully new to biking, so this might not be a big deal to anyone else. but today was the first time i rode my bike in snowy/icy weather! my bern helmet's cozy insert kept my face warm and riding helped keep the rest of me from shivering.

that's all - i'm just super excited and moderately proud!

Hi guys--getting ready to brave the sleet.

My dog walking day got shortened today due to the holiday, so I only have to ride a couple of miles today! Woot!

Anyway--just posted a review of my jacket on the Bicicle Beginner blog. Would love to know what you're wearing these days while riding your bike.

Julie! I just realized that I still have the magazine! I threw out the rest of the Sunday paper, but I totally forgot that I kept the magazine because it had a listing of winter/holiday events that I wanted. Send me a private message with your address and I can mail it to you, if you like.

Has anyone seen the Trib Magazine article that mentions bike winter?

Photo of the "original ice bike" built here in Chicago. I think I have the links to an article or two about the Steinlauf's. I will check.

I'm getting ready to post my horrible sweater ride...however, I noticed that the Santa Rampage ride is no longer on the calendar. I'm doing it on a Sunday, but don't want it to be the day right after the Rampage...anyone know when the ride is slated to happen?

Hmmm . . . the fair weather riders are the ones we really want reach-- really cooked on the distribution in September and early October.
We typically get 1,000 and this year we got a great deal on 2000, and seem to have burned through them quickly.
So . . . torn. We could definitely use more by the sound of things-- =but= there is value to having some urgency around getting hold of the new BW sticker when it's released (motivation to show for kickoff and events)-- kinda like the Beany Baby thing.
OK, that analogy sucked.

At Oct. critical mass people where more interested in getting a Bike winter sticker than fleece. But it still isn't terribly cold. I ran out pretty quickly.

Anyone in possession of stickers still?
Trying to figure out if another run is needed.
