Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)

My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane

With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming

#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)

#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.

We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

Try this:

Just now I was able to log on to 311 at this site: https://311.chicago.gov/s/?language=en_US

Click on "Service Request" > "Transportation & Streets" > "Vehicles/Bicycles" > "Vehicle Parked in Bike Lane Complaint".

Anybody have any luck submitting a 311 report with the new 311 system? I tried Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox, and all failed. IE won't even allow one to log in, as clicking on the 'Login' button doesn't open the login page. Chrome and Firefox are a bit better, allowing me to enter the report data, but when clicking on the 'Finish' button it simply spins without ever completing the submission. Also, the opening map page appears useless, and there's no way to click on the map to get it to populate the address page. I submitted feedback using the 'Feedback' link on the bottom of the main page.

I was able to submit 2 pothole requests without problems, one using the app, one via computer. However, when I tested the Bike Program section on the app, it wasn't accepting any address for the Location part of the request, so it was impossible to complete the request. :(

One issue I've been having with 311 for a while is that the system now defaults to recording reports by the nearest building address, not the actual street location of the problem. Certain types of requests (like tree trimming or removal) require a building address, but for something like potholes or street lights out, where the nearest building address isn't that near, it doesn't make sense. We need to make noise about this, because it doesn't work very well.

No luck for me, either on the app or online in Chrome. I have an Android phone and a PC.

Chrome works for me, as outlined earlier ^^.

I'm using a Mac, if it makes any difference.
