Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)

My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane

With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming

#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)

#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.

We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

This guy parks in the bike lane near 4850 N. Elston several mornings each week, dropping his kid off. Today he was not only in the bike lane but next to an open, legal spot.

As I took the picture and reported the car in the bike lane, the guy who was taking the kid inside asked if I would like to "talk to the cops." I responded that I would LOVE to talk to the cops about this and invited him to call them. Unsurprisingly, he then went back inside.

I'm guessing this is in front of a day care center. Maybe it might be worth talking to a manager at the day care center. Just a thought...

No, there is not a day care center there, only businesses and an apartment building. It's one guy dropping off his kid to his parents or friends. He's a real jerk and followed me one time to scream at me about why he can park in the bike lane.
