Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)

My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane

With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming

#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)

#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.

We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

I agree. I've tweeted them numerous times about educating their drivers. One time they responded that they have told drivers to stay out of the bike lanes. But it still happens. :-(

He actually said to me, "there is no where else to park", if you look to the right ahead of where he is parked, you can see tons of space for him to park.

Seems to be a common issue with Divvy, FedEx, Ups, USPS and others - no way can they park a few car lengths away in a legal spot when the bike lane is right where they want to be.

Grand around 6:30 tonight. We need at least bollards to keep the tension down between cyclists and drivers. Had to snake through 4 block of this mess.

What in the actual fuck is wrong with people? The city can't protect us right in front of city hall?

Not to mention how everyone is disregarding the left turn signal there now because of the construction and almost crashing in to dozens of cyclists and or using that exact same spot as a left turn lane.

Yes, I'm missing those crappy plastic posts right about now.

sent to me by a friend earlier today. Et tu, horses?

The Harold's Chicken food truck was back on Canal near Northern Trust this morning, serving a line of people standing in the middle of the northbound bike lane again.

As a practical matter, the sort of person who would line up to eat fried chicken for breakfast is not very easy to bike around.

This really grinds my gears! Why did you not pull up to the curb?! There is absolutely no reason, beyond laziness, not to properly park!

it's ok.. he's only going to be there for a "minute"

5 star service will do a good job endangering the lives of those pesky worthless bicycle riders and your laundry. Dearborn bike lane 7:00pm across the street from the House of Blues.
