You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.
There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.
I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!
I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.
Keep riding like a tard!
love,
gabe
Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

I love the "coming in hot!" callout. So appropriate. And funny. :-)
SMH. Sounds like he's probably not riding on the streets, just bike trails that don't interact nearly as much with traffic. I feel more judgy when a person with a bike rack (and a bike on the back) doesn't give enough space to cyclists. They should know better.
I've never seen a "Porche", though Chicago does have a lot of porches, and you occasionally see a Porsche. I've heard Porsche drivers are ***holes ;)
"Coming in hot" is good, though.
"Are you a tourist or just crazy?"
This rude and obnoxious woman pulls up beside me just north of the LaSalle intersection with the Zoo exit and asks, "Are you a tourist or just crazy?" The light changed and she drove off before I could respond.
So, if you see her, ask her for me, "Are you a tourist or just a crazy a-hole?"
I would have spewed my iced coffee reading this if I had been drinking one!
Nice work!

I had an angry driver encounter coming up Damen tonight. Guy honking and revving at me despite having plenty of room to go around. I passed him at the next stop sign, and he pulled up next to me and started cursing me out. I apologized and said I didn't mean to be in his way because First Car to the Red Light Wins™ and I understand that. He threw an empty coke can at me, swore some more and went off. He then got stuck at the red light half a block ahead. He wasn't the first one there. Poor guy.
"He then got stuck at the red light half a block ahead. He wasn't the first one there. Poor guy."
I love it when that happens to obnoxious drivers. In my younger, more stupid days, I'd laugh as I rode past them. Thankfully, an older and wiser cyclist explained that doing so wasn't a smart idea, and the consequences of such acts could be very hurtful to me. So nowadays, I just laugh to myself when passing any such drivers.
To the couple walking in the Kinzie bike lane, who said "Thank you" when I said "This is a bike lane, not a sidewalk:" at least you have manners, if not intelligence, since you continued walking in the bike lane.
To the guy who, when I said the same to him, screamed "I'm in the middle, not the lane, you f**king bitch!" You have neither manners nor intelligence - the striped zone in which you were walking ends before the corner, so either you'll walk over the cars or in the bike lane. I'm guessing you walked in the bike lane.
After 13 some years of commuting, delivering I got doored.
Where you ask?
In the bike lane. Idiots who are stopped in traffic in the middle of the street no blinkers, signal nothing just decide it's ok for passengers to get out.
I'm sorry mr Tesla 25512That I told you you should check your F'ing mirrors before letting peole out in the middle of the F'ing street!
Your son doesn't need to hear the F word!? Oh my! I'm sorry it's not his safe space and it is in fact the real world where oblivious entitled morons can't drive, park or check their mirrors but proudly display their Alma Matter or college, drive a $50,000 vehicle then injure someone.
The final kicker was after I composed my self, straightened my bike out caught up to you stuck in Cubs pre game traffic you turn right FROM THE MIDDLE LANE!!
4 blocks later you've remembered and learned nothing.
Bruised and I'll be sore for sure tomorrow but yeah. It's not the first time I've flown over the handlebars and luckily I put my pizza rak back on the front which hit first instead of my face, chest...
You know that dooring carries a $1,000 fine (for the car driver) don't you? The Municipal Code of Chicago calls this infraction "open door in traffic". You should have called the police. Of course, getting an officer who cares is another issue...
Opening and closing vehicle doors
No person shall open the door of a vehicle on the side available to moving traffic unless and until it is reasonably safe to do so, and can be done without interfering with the movement of other traffic, nor shall any person leave a door open on the side of a vehicle available to moving traffic for a period of time longer than necessary to load or unload passengers.
Glad you weren't hurt too badly.
