You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.

There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.

I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!

I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.

Keep riding like a tard!

love,

gabe

Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

Good. I really should report every cab that pulls out from the Westin hotel into the PBL on Dearborn and just stops without looking right at all. Or the ones that turn in without looking left. Too many close calls there.

To the taxi driver that blew through the red light on EB Kinzie at Canal yesterday evening, passing stopped traffic on the wrong side of the road to run the light without even slowing down - I reported you. Something may or may not come of it, but it can't hurt - good thing no one happened to be coming north on the green from Canal at that moment!

To the idiot who just about mowed me down outside of the red line station by the campus we were both headed to - bicycles do not belong on the sidewalk. I felt your front wheel hit my bag, and too bad I had my nice work clothes on because 1. you would've covered me in snow had I not jumped out of your path and 2. you didn't seem to believe I was a credible authority on where bikes belong.

After I mentioned that I commute daily on the same road you claimed "didn't have a bike space" (which apparently warranted your wobbling through El passengers on a slippery snowy sidewalk hill) you gave me some serious teenager lip. However, as far as I could tell, you were an adult man. Get on the road where you belong, and if the snow and cars intimidate you, stay off the road AND SIDEWALK until you can ensure safe participation in everyone's travels. I should have thrown a snowball at you.

Dovah, I think a snowball was the least the situation warranted! :)

You: City employee plowing the Milwaukee and Kinzie PBLs with the funky-looking-orange-plow-thing. Thanks! I wanted to wave and smile and yell thank you but I also didn't want to look too crazy.

Too bad that you (probably) plowed the Dearborn PBL, which was (probably) immediately refilled by the bigger plows.  All of your hard work, gone, just gone.

FYI, the guy riding behind me offered to buy you a sandwich so... you should ask the next guy with a beard riding a bike to buy you one.

how do we get this thank you to the city worker plowing the bike lanes this morning?

What time was it at?

Dearborn wasn't clear at 9:00 a.m., at least not between Congress and Adams.  And Monadnock Bldg maintenance was dumping snow in the bike lane.  :(

To the person who passed me in the oncoming traffic lane  while I was taking the lane to turn left from Kingsbury to Chicago on Monday:

a) you're an idiot

b) You owe apologies to me and also (mostly) to the driver you who (perfectly legally) was turning right off of Chicago that you were nearly in a head on collision with.

c) It was really great that you made it through that green light and I had to wait till the next one, you go really far.  Especially since car traffic sucked, bike traffic didnt, and I made it to Chicago and Milwaukee before you after all.

d) jerkkkkk

Dear 35ish Hispanic female driving a green two-door oldsmobile whose lisence plate I sadly did not fully record, thanks for being so impatient to get ahead of me while I turned from going south on Hamlin to east on Wrightwood. Not only did you disregard my signals, but also forced me to jump off my bike as you skidded about from trying to speed in front of me on ice. You then also continued to run two stop signs and a red light. A+ driving.

Yikes! Are you okay?

If only we all has cameras with us. Someone needs to make a generator hub that powers a camera on your handlebars just like the generator hub for lights.

happy you are ok and sorry about the scary situation. That lady should def not be driving or at least needs to be reprimanded.

I am! Thankfully I was already slowing down to stop so I easily hopped off and out of her way. Definitely regretted stashing my phone in my bag instead of my usual front pocket spot this morning but also glad no one else was on the street as she careened off.
