Young white male driving this kind of car, plate # K47 9487 tried to run me off the road at Washington and Lake.

Watch out.

It happened around 8:00pm well after rush hour.

Correction, Washington and Wells. Same color as picture.

What do you all think about the idea of a website where cyclists can report bad drivers like this, those that park in a bike lane, etc? Would it serve a constructive purpose? I've toyed with the idea before but I just don't know.

At least one previous discussion, and I seem to think there were others but cannot find them.

There used to be a website for that. it got disbanded due to a lack of interest.

Would this instance be something for Steven Vance's Close Calls website?

Is the near-miss registry website still up? Steven?

Thanks H, Glad I have enough space to move out of the way.

The pattern that has become more apparent to me now is, even on a triple wide street like that, drivers that buzz by in order to pass me up to get to the red light become more enraged as I pass them up again at the red when I take the lane once more.

Sorry this happened, Juan, and glad you're OK.

Steve's web site DOES have a map of locations. Click here.  For future reference, if you click ALL CLOSE CALLS at the top of his main page, it will take you to the map.

I think a website to track and easily display -where- such incidents occur could be useful.

A website where people post complaints about specific drivers would be a great way to bring legal headaches on whoever has their name attached to it, and wouldn't do much good otherwise.

Posted to the close calls site.

As I passed he yelled "oh yeah! your'e on your bike". When the light turned green he revved up and aimed his car towards my direction. I managed to veer off to the side. Mad that he was not able to get close enough to me, he yelled "pussy!" and sped off to the next red light.

It's kind of flattering being called pussy. Those things can take a good beating and they come back for more.

Hey Juan,

Happy to read that your sense of humor and physical well being remained intact. I'm in on the idea of a near-miss web site. If we can link that into some sort of real time police notification system, when we're all armed with Go-Pro or the hopefully, soon available Google Glasses, we will be a formidable force for truth, justice and the America way.

No wait, cancel that last clause. The American way means I own the road toad.

Just curious are you riding in the right so he can get by or taking up the whole lane?

Doesn't really matter where he was riding, does it? If in fact the driver were aiming his car, the driver was in the wrong; it was vehicular assault, cut and dried.
