The Madison Street bike lane, Chicago's first bike lane in the Loop, was installed last night! Bike lane markings through intersections and an increase in bike symbols will help alert all roadway users of the presence of the bike lane. - courtesy of 's Chicago Bicycle Programs's facebook page.

Based on the view from my office window, the lane has been extended at least to Wacker.
Is this cyclist on his phone?...or holding his jaw from getting doored?

I'm curious about the same thing. I hope that it ends up being a good solution.

Will be very interested to see how it affects cyclist behavior vis-a-vis buses. At a glance it seems like it ought to improve things . . .
