First reported yesterday; still hanging on as of 3 hours ago; coverage getting somewhat more detailed as the news propogates to reflect that he didn't only live from 1975 to 1979.

Hip hop?    Rapper's Delight was a hit in the 70s and people like Grandmaster Flash and Kurtis Blow were incredibly well-known in the 70s to anybody in the R&B scene.  The future is older than you think it is.
