Ortlieb bags on sale at the TheTouringStore

I just noticed that all Ortlieb bags on sale at TheTouringStore.com thru November 7th

It's unlikely that you will find lower prices on these bags anywhere.

I am not affiliated with them, but have had good experiences with this site and it's owner.

Good prices. I got a great deal on a bunch of Ortlieb bags once at Kozy.

Sometimes I pine for the days of yore and miss Compuserve and Netscape. This website brings those warm fuzzy feelings back.

The website is silly indeed, especially when you realize he is the highest volume Ortlieb seller in the US. You would he could spend some money and update it

I've had the office bag for 5 years now and it is finally wearing out (I used it almost daily for all this time). It is a great bag for commuting. Very sturdy and has plastic inside walls that make it retain it's shape. Together with a roll top, that means that it has a fixed capacity. So it may not be ideal as for groceries. The version I have had only a few pockets, but I understand that the latest versions have more pockets and a laptop divider

I am thinking of getting the Downtown. It has some specific pockets, including one for your laptop, and it looks less drab than the office bag. Not quite sure about how expandable it is.

If you are looking for more capacity, I would go with the large touring panniers. I have a set and they are the most flexible in terms of storing stuff inside it.

I have a large Office bag that i use occasionally, and a Shopper that i've used daily for the last 4-5 years. The bags hold up extremely well and, while they're not exacty stylish, are very functional. The Shopper is huge, but easier to tote around than the touring panniers. Plenty of room for all tje stuff i take to work (breakfast, lunch, reading, clothes, shoulder bag) and room for shopping also.

I bought the back roller classics about a month ago and it's been a great weight off my back to use it for regular commuting, though it means I don't use my namesake bag so much.  There's plenty of space in one bag for all my work clothes, spare tube, pump, tools, and so on.  I loaded both down with six bottles of juice from Trader Joe's two weeks ago along with other shopping and they were fine for the roughly six miles or so back home.

I have a Civia/Ortlieb pannier (which is essentially a snazzy looking single backroller) and I love it for commuting purposes. My stuff has never gotten wet or dirty, and I'm convinced that Ortlieb has one of the best attaching systems.

They're waterproof enough that I fill mine with ice and drinks and when I head to the beach. Who needs a cooler when you got an Ortlieb?

I've also adapted another pair of ortiebs to serve as motorcycle panniers. One fell off while going about 40mph and gained some minor damage. After an ortlieb patch kit they're good as new!

me too! I love the back roller classic. I too use one for commuting and if i have a lot of stuff to fetch I'll bring the pair. For commuting or normal use you can (or at least should) close them up. But for groceries or doing your recycling (if you live in a backward ward without pickup) one can leave them open and fill them all the way to the top. They hold a LOT of stuff that way.

Also +1 on the attachment system. I've lost two panniers (complete with tools, pump etc) made by other manufacturers - And on one occasions had a fender destroyed by a shopping pannier that made its way into my spokes. (An epic/comic low speed crash ensued. ) I can't imagine an Ortlieb ever falling off or finding its way into my spokes.
