"Broken" news.

LSD daily traffic count: ~ 200,000?

Congress Parkway Bridge daily traffic count: 150,000

LFT: 70,000

That's really pretty impressive for what is (flyover excepted) a relatively inexpensively maintained piece of infrastructure.

They have since repaved a good portion of the trail from Edgewater beach, smooth as a baby's bottom.
I'm assuming from 31st street South nothing happens?

Not exactly the most pursuasive image for the joys of bicycle commuting (I'm not sure if I'm hoping that's sweat, or not.)

It looks like a swimmer who just finished up at Ohio St. Beach.

Mike, here in my mind are massive stretches of the trail that need to be repaved:

From the Oak Street curve south to Monroe

About 2 miles of the trail adjacent to and running a little north and south of McCormick Place

From about 41st street and onward south

The most beautiful part of the trail is actually the part by 31st Street Beach and the brand new 31st Street Boat Harbor.  That small section of the trail was completely redone in concert with the recently completed boat harbor project.

Less traffic, fewer collisions.
