I proposed this idea late last year and it seemed like some folks were interested. Since Spring migration is getting started now, I'm posting again to gauge interest. Currently, weekends are out for me, as far as birding trips go. I work weekends for the next four months. However, I'd be interested in meeting up with folks to do some birding by bike on either Thursdays, or Fridays for the next two months, or possibly meeting up somewhere central on the LFP after work some day 5:30ish and heading somewhere like The Magic Hedge, or southwards to my neck of the woods down around Jackson Park with stops in at the restored prairies south of McCormick and south of 35th street marina along the way. Any takers?

Cool idea. I may be up for a south side outing, depending on timing.
You may want to check out this spot, too. Burnham Prairie has been an ongoing restoration project for several years, but a lot of people don't know about this little gem of a park because it's kinda tucked away.
I am interested, and generally speaking could make 5:30ish on a Thursday or Friday. Although not this week. ;-)
I'm not at all surprised about the deer and coyotes.

Anne, I ride by that all the time, albeit on the other side of Lakeshore. I've never actually been through it but it's been on my list of places to hit for who knows how long. Driving on LSD before, I've seen both deer and coyotes in that park.
I'm potentially interested in a northside meet up on a Friday. Think I saw some cool red breasted mergansers last weekend at Montrose Beach.
FYI - it's a bit off the lakefront path, but a friend who lives near Douglas Park has mentioned seeing lots of unusual duck species in the pond recently. Not necessarily suggesting it in combination with a lakefront ride, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone might be interested.
Anything you can't see at the Lincoln Park Zoo's pond? That and North Pond have a good variety, along with the captive Trumpeter Swan breeding program. I used to see herons from time to time at North Pond when I lived around there, too.
Thursdays or Fridays are good for me for the northside which has two near one another, the Magic Hedge and the Bill Jarvis Bird Sanctuary.
