Dockless bike-share will launch in Chicago on Tuesday, May 1

The pilot program, which will take place on the South Side between 79th and 138, mostly outside the Divvy zone, will last through November. After July 1, all cycles must be the "lock-to" style, with a built-in U-lock or cable that must be secured to a rack, sign, or decommissioned parking meter, rather than the "free-floating" style, which only have wheel locks. https://chi.streetsblog.org/2018/04/26/cdot-has-released-the-permit...

John,  it  is sad to say that "free floating"  was  the correct  term.  I  was  back in  Rockford this week and  a local  told me that  on  day one  of  Lime Bike they found one  in  the  Rock River.  They found another  in  a tree. I hope the  bikes fare better  here.
