I really appreciate that he is there 3-4 times a week ticketing cars and bicyclists who don't slow down at the 3 way stop. I am glad he gave me a warning last year, because I have seen a lot of people getting tickets recently. I did not appreciate that as I passed by this morn he said "I have cars stopped, I didn't get you this time, but I will tomorrow". I did not put my foot down, but I did slow down to almost a complete stop because I see him ticketing cyclist all the time. So- PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN or this cop WILL give you a ticket at this intersection. He is racking them up.

I didn't see anyone when I went through a bit before 9:00, but I'm always happy to see CPD ticketing here. People run the intersection rampantly, but the stop sign's there for a good reason.
I don't agree at all, I think it's incredibly chicken shit. I don't get it Apie, in your original post you seem chagrined that a foot actually has to be planted for a stop to be good enough for this cop, then you agree with J.W.'s comment.

If you're riding north on Lincoln between Leland and Lawrence you're going the wrong way on a one-way street.
I consider that stretch the most dangerous part of my commute and always take it very slow, if I'm going southbound. Going northbound, its actually safer to take Leland to Western, then on Wetsern immediately getting into the LTL to get onto Lawrence (assuming you're meaning to go WB on Lawrence.)

Plain and simple and inaccurate. The law does not require road users to "be prepared to stop at stop signs" it requires road users to come to a full stop. Which is insane for bikes and pretty much also insane for motor vehicles. Some drivers do come to a full stop, but most just slow down - to approximately the speed of a leisurely cyclist carefully riding through the stop sign if/when s/he has the right of way.
I stop and wait at red lights any time actual traffic has the opposing green or yellow light. But if there is no other traffic, making a show of stopping and waiting just so drivers don't get mad at us is a senseless abdication of human reason and dignity.
And anyway, I don't want to be treated as an equal on the road (although I'm happy to settle for it, as a compromise). Cycling is a beneficial act of transportation. Pedestrians and cyclists should be treated as privileged road users in recognition of their contributions to the environment and civil peace.
When the rules are wrong, blindly following them is also wrong.
