Chainlink team racer witnesses a terrifying bike crash in Avondale

Yesterday Geoffrey Harding, who races for The Chainlink's team, was taking his daughters on his cargo bike for an Italian ice after the first day of school, when the driver of a stolen car nearly struck them in Avondale. Seconds later she crashed into an oncoming vehicle and struck a young woman on a bike, seriously injuring her.

So very sad to read! Hope the cyclist will recover :(

Thank goodness it looks like the cyclist will survive, and Geoffrey and his daughters are all right.  So that driver stole a car and almost killed a bunch of people.  That should be good for a little community service and maybe a conviction and fine on one ticket.

A little community service? I'm not a fan of incarceration, unless the offender is a clear and present danger to society. How about say a minimum of 5 years of community service that matches the severity of the offense, in addition to restitution to the injured party.

How about send the MF to a water crip with food rations to last 3 hours... and he stays there without rescue.

I googled water crip and I got back links to gripe water. I checked Urban Dictionary and there's nothing there for water crip. So uh, what's a water crip? Enquiring minds want to know.

Welcome to Chicago. The winters are cold but you're going to like it here.  The poster clearly meant Water Crib. Try to Google Chicago Water Crib.

Don't count on it.  We are expendable, if not downright undesirable.

So many pedestrians, so little time...
