The terrorist who killed eight people and injured 11 in a truck rampage in New York worked for UBER, a friend said.

Sayfullo Saipov, 29, drove into a bike path in Lower Manhattan shortly before 3pm on Tuesday, hitting a number of cyclists and runners.

Heartbreaking. Sending healing thoughts to all directly affected by this horrific act of vehicular violence.

When I started seeing pictures, I thought I noticed some rental bikes among the wreckage. A friend who works for a large bike rental company said it appears that some of the folks who were hit were tourists who rented from a Manhattan location of her employer. :(
