The Great American Solar Eclipse Viewing Party 2017 Celebration.

Monday August 21, 2017. Gather at Polish Triangle (Division and Milwaukee Ave.), 10am. Departure ~10:30am for ride to Milton Lee Olive III Park arrival ~11:00am. Route: Division east to LFT - Olive Pk. Perhaps it may be best for all to head in to Olive Park at their own pace. We will be in north east break water area (partial tree-shaded area) with a south view of the transit of the eclipse.

The actual occurrence of the solar eclipse in Chicago begins at 11:54am CDT with the peak maximum eclipse coverage of 87% occurring at 1:19pm. The moon exits the sun's face at 2:42pm.

This is a Bicycle Astronomy Group Event open to all Chainlink members. Please use your bike to attend this event. Bring along a picnic style luncheon with refreshments. Eclipse viewing glasses are recommended and may be available. Pin - point projection devices also may be available. Check the Bicycle Astronomy Group site on The Chainlink for info and updates. Clear skys would be ideal for this event but don't let the weather psych you out. It can still be amazing! . . .
