Last minute important information regarding todays ride!!! Please dress warm today. (Recommendations.... Warm Gloves, Hat, Double Socks, Scarf, and Glasses.) If anyone feels it's too cold for them today, especially if you're not familiar with biking in these sort of temperatures, do not feel pressured at all to follow through. If you decide to opt out even at the last minute, I can exchange your ticket online for any other ride later this year. I want everyone to safely enjoy the ride. For everyone riding we will see you at Daley Plaza at 8:00 am, some of us will be there at 7:45 am to greet cyclists who arrive early.

Hello Adventure Cyclists...

Here are some helpful clothing and safety tips for the Shamrocks and Shenanigans Tour.

The temperature looks like it will be in the mid 30s and sunny on Sunday. First of all, I would recommend wearing layers. Wear full fingered gloves or mittens, and something to keep your ears warm like a headband, or balaclava.

Wear thick socks or double socks. For eye protection make sure your have biking glasses and or goggles.

If you have ridden in this type of weather you probably know your body will generate plenty of heat and it's actually not too bad. Bring water and snacks to munch long the way.

Fill your tires to the maximum pressure recommended to minimize pinch flats. Tires under inflated are prone to this type of flat. If you arrive early, say 7:45am we can make sure you have the proper inflation.

Be aware of your surroundings such as fellow cyclists, vehicles, joggers (especially wearing earbuds), walkers, tourists, and pets. You may see them but they may not see or hear you coming.

If you see something say something, like a hole, large crack, glass, or debris on the road please call it out so the cyclist behind you is aware.

Follow at a safe distance. Your front wheel shouldn't overlap the rear wheel of the person in front of you as this creates a serious hazard. Use hand signals when stopping and turning.

Safely cross intersections. If you can't make the light, we will wait for you on the other side of the intersection.

Be alert, it's great to have conversations with people but remember to be aware of potential hazards.

Most importantly enjoy the tour and have a blast!

This past weekend Jerome and I had a great scouting mission to finalize the route for the Shamrocks & Shenanigans Tour to the South Side Irish Parade and Givin's Castle. Here is a sneak peak of one of the sides of the castle. We will be going on a complete Tour of the castle once we arrive.  https://adventurecycling.tours/tours/
