Trade/Buy: Shimano 105 1050 FD 28.6 clamp-on for 31.8

Hey folks!

One of my buddies is building up his new C'Dale CAD2 but stumbled upon a problem when we tried to install his front derailleur. He currently has a 105 FD1050 28.6 clamp-on but would like to trade for a 31.8 to fit his seat-tube.

If anyone have one for sale or trade, please let me know!

I believe in you!

I'm not sure I have a 7/8 spd. FD with a 32, but probably have a braze on and 32 clamp adapter.

If you're using friction front shifting, you can use other brands.  If STI, I'd stick to Shimano of the same era, but other groups should work fine.

Its downtube shifting, so its not necessarily friction (right?).

Yes, DT left shifter is friction.

I didn't find any 32 mm 6/7/8 FDs except this Sora 3300 and R443.  The Sora is meant for a standard double, and the R443 for a triple with a 50 or smaller big ring.   I do have 1055 and 6401 braze ons, and a Shimano 32 clamp adapter.  If you're going to be using a 9 speed chain I might have some 9 speed FD options.  You'd probably be OK using a 9 speed FD with 6/7/8, but might have to trim more often than with a 6/7/8 speed FD.
