Challenge Gravel Grinders. They come only in 38mm width. I'm very happy with these tires thus far.

Thanks. I read a couple good reviews on those but I couldn't find them. I should try another LBS, they don't seem to be available online anywhere either.

I have had luck with Clement MSO's on my Salsa Chili and I have used Schwalbe Big Apples in 29x2.35 for the Gravel Metric, Night Bison, and the I&M Canal.  If it isn't too wet or muddy they are fantastic at about 40 PSI.  The bike is a 1x9 Surly Ogre that I put together a year and a half ago.

This is not my gravel bike, but one of my commuters. With 40mm tires it can handle quite a heavy ballast though. I had a bit of spare time during errands today to hop up on the tracks parallel to Kenton Ave. I'm excited that this group exists. I just read about coffee groups that meet-up weekly in the rough to make coffee before work. Maybe we should start such a practice. The grassy area adjacent to the Ohio feeder would be a great spot along Milwaukee Ave. Or maybe the tracks that cross Elston down that-aways...

I love the Wyoming man.  Riv has a new frameset coming out called the Clem Smith and I imagine it looking a lot like that Wyoming.  

I like the idea.........gravel grinder practice..............I got out to DeKalb a few times last year for the Gravel Metric training rides but that is no easy feat.  Something local to do would be great.

Not a weekly ride but I'm thinking of organizing a bottom to top DPRT ride in late May or June. Stay tuned!

A weekly or monthly ride would be a fun idea either way

Our shop has made that the anniversary ride the last four or five years. Catching Metra home from Antioch makes it so much better. So does a pub stop in Libertyville.

Here is my main off-road road bike. A Holdsworth Mistral. I've seen it as a frameset on the cover of their 1984 catalog. That's good enough for me. I bought it a decade ago from a shop in Maryland. It had never been built up. I've built it many ways over the years. I've settled on this current set-up. This was on the tracks parallel to the Kennedy, near Augusta and Elston.

Looks like a nice rig.  What kind of handlebar bag is that? It looks old school.
