I loved that Bike Snob column. I always wear a helmet.  I feel odd without one.  But I don't think that there should be a law that requires helmets.

I wear a bike helmet all the time. Not so much for the safety factor of the helmet itself but for the mirror that I have permanently affixed to it. I hope I never need to benefit from the protection offered by the helmet but I use the mirror all the time. I think this is one of the best. I prefer a heads up display over a handlebar mounted mirror. By merely rotating my head slightly from side to side I have a 360 degree view around me.
