watch out for dangerous cars

I was riding east on Wrightwood tonight around 10:30 and encountered a few dangerous drivers.

At Lincoln and Sheffield, there was the Buick sedan, license plate "EJH 238", that made a right turn in front of me when I was going straight.

There was taxi 4614 turning right from Lakeview onto Wrightwood without signaling.

There was the taxi driving north on Stockton that did not have his headlights on.

Finally, there was the white Mercedes with a non-Illinois plate that looked like "TRI 1" that rolled through the stop sign at Lakeview and Wrightwood (driving south) as I was about to enter the crosswalk (on foot).

Be careful out there.

We have a lot of non-English speaking, eastern European elderly up my way. And with the different little ethnic stores that are along Milwaukee it can be just as interesting a ride at times. Worse part is when you try to explain to them the bike lane is for bikes, they tell you they own one too....somewhere this a disconnect between owning a bike and that giving you a right to DRIVE in the bike lane.

Be careful, and wary, indeed.
