Swap-O-Rama. A few years ago they cleaned up Maxwell st and its pretty legit.
There was a late model bike dealer working out of Wolff's Flea Market at the Rosemont Horizon parking lot the last time I was there - I can't speak to the origin of his stock, but if you see your model you could inquire.
I checked a few bikes out this morning @ Swap-O-Rama while looking for my R20. Nothing seemed terribly out of place until I saw two carbon fiber bikes... I ran their serial numbers, through CSBR & BikeIndex, but nothing came up. I asked the guy how much for the Felt, he said $1800. That's also the MSRP on the Felt page.
Also, I had looked around for the bikes that people had posted about in the past week or two. I saw a speedster with a wire basket, but it was a different color than the one I remembered.
makes you want to throw up, right to see those shiny road bikes that don't belong at a flea market.
That's where I got my bike back and it was so disturbing to see high end bikes next to rows and rows of used car tires and used electronics.

I also had searched brand/model on CSBR & BikeIndex. The only Felt b16 that came up was in Colorado.
Since the frames are Carbon Fiber, The serials were printed in larger white letters that contrasted against the dark frames. I lifted the front up about 80 degrees, like I was looking at the fork, then messed with the pedals and memorized the number. I came back a few minutes later and did it again on the Giant. He watched me very close but didn't say anything. I hope someone finds these bikes.
Maxwell St is alive and well, We go every couple months, for the food mostly (Go to Rubi's) its sunday mornings on Desplains between Harrison and Roosevelt.
FWIW, I haven't seen many suspicious bikes there. Mainly Walmart bike and schwinn cruisers.

And what about maxwell vs. Swap now? Is maxwell still happening?
I live about 10 minutes from the Allstate arena and could wander over there from time to time. Any particular spot I should wander to, since I know that is a monster lot.
And would morning be prime time to go as well?
Looking for some insight into Swap-o-rama. My partners bike was stolen last night - http://chicago.stolenbike.org/node/196013.
Any idea on turn-around time for selling? If we went this week, likely it was already there this morning and gone by Tuesday (next time they are open). If you find the bike there, can you get it back without paying for it?
Thanks for the help, this sucks.
