Saw this mentioned on BSNYC (in his own inimitable way):

(No affiliation - that is, that's not me or anyone I know in the video...)

I saw the article on that in Gizmoto. Have't read bikesnob yet, but I know how I feel about it: just buy a car and get it over with.

I would think the market for this device would be quite small. A solution in search of a problem...
Good way to "cheat" on Bike the Drive though? :-)
I can see plenty of add-ons to Divvy bikes: Clip-on tri-bars, A clip-on rear rack. Trailers just for Divvy, you name it.
Looking forward to a whole new genre of kickstarter campaigns!
I like that idea of a motor and fuel tank
How about a canopy to protect you from the elements. You can start out with a simple clip on umbrella holder and then grow into full canopy: http://jillnerkowski.weebly.com/
Then all you need is some gadget to link to Divvys sideways and you got yourself a car!

Maybe a kit that would let you connect two Divvys together (making a 4-wheeled vehicle) with some kind of enclosure, so that you could talk on the phone without having to worry about balancing and watching the road, and without so much wind and road noise to distract you from your conversation? Of course, two linked Divvys would be kind of heavy, so a motor would probably have to be part of the kit...and maybe a fuel tank...
