I recently came across this integrated tail light and camera product on Kickstarter (thanks BikeSnobNYC) and thought it cool idea. I use a camera and a tail light and it would be nice to have them integrated into one device. I'm a bit unsure that the backwards view will be effective, though.
Thoughts?

Agreed, I get sick of having to clear out my camera every so often. When I forget to do it for a while, the device fills up and stops recording.
The nano technology I believe is just the water resistance. I'm guessing it's similar to Schoeller's NanoSphere (which in my experience is far from perfect). I assume the device is still sealed from water, though, since they fully submerged it in the video.
Four hours isn't great, but I have to charge my camera once a day anyway, so this isn't a huge deal for me.

- One nice feature is the auto loop. If you want to use it as a safety device, this avoids you having to wipe the existing data.
- I love how they keep throwing the term nano-technology around without explaining what it means.
- A dynamo powered version would be great, since 4 hours run time isn't all that much
I just saw this last night but didn't get a chance to check out the kickstarter until just now. I actually think the backwards view will be quite effective at piecing together what happened if there ever was a collision. It might show a driver swerve their vehicle towards a rider if there was some intentional malice or a driver's head looking down as if checking a text.
I'll be in the market soon for a helmet mounted cam to record my commutes and some joy rides. I might grab one of these to supplement it once there are some product reviews.
Perhaps couple it with the Siva Cycle Atom to extend runtime? http://sivacycle.com/
Did you ever get one of those? Do you like it?

The one thing that the rear-facing camera won't help with is if you get doored.
That's what the GoPro on your helmet is for. :-)
The GoPros are fantastic cameras but I couldn't bring myself to invest that much $$$ on the camera and accessories needed. I ended up with a Veho VCC-005-MUVI. Half the price and has auto loop recording; very happy with it:

It's only 720p. If the objective is to be able to read a license plate on a fast moving car I'd prefer 1080. Also, I wonder how well it would perform at night.
