Since thÍs weekend is Marauders and the LAST weekend is CCM what does that leave for next weekend?

Are there any rides planned for the infamous fourth weekend in the random five weekend month of May?

Sunday the 31st is the last Chicago Fire game where you can get 9 dollar tix in section 8 (crazy awesome fan section.) I know at least 2 people riding down, including me...Hoping Eric (iggi) and Mark are coming. Join up for a fun drink and ride. ;-)

And, of course, Sunday the 24th is Bike the Drive! ;-)
Bike the drive seems lame. Isn't it like 50 bucks or something ridiculous?
Or free if you volunteer a few hours of your time.

For what it is worth, my company is sponsoring Bike the Drive, much like we also sponsored the Bike Bash and Bike to Work Week. We think that the fees that the Active Transportation Alliance charges are extremely low, not per se for the value of the event, but for the value they bring to the Chicago area. They are reliant on membership fees and event participation and sponsorship to do everything that they organize in the city. The amount of advocacy that ATA does is impressive for their budget, and while I know many (myself included) are somewhat down on the loss of the pure-bike focus, this is an event that is worth the cost because 1 - you get to kick cars off of Lake Shore Drive and get your bike on with thosands of Chicagoans. and 2 - the fees are supporting far more than just this temporary shut-down of Chicago's lakefront expressway.

Bike the Drive!
i agree with Lee. Bike the Drive is there biggest fund rasier. I & Marlene & Hector will be working it. ATA does alot more than some of the others do...
It's only as lame as you let it be. I'm riding with friends that aren't commuters and then we are heading to breakfast. Makes for a great day with friends. ;-)
You can't leave this so open to dirty jokes! ;-)

Gabe, I concur! It is only as lame as one lets it be. Friends and I meet up every year, have a nice early ride then head for breakfast.
Doesnt Bike Da Drive start at 7 in da morn???
Thats when I get home after a night of boozing and hookers ;)
What's wrong with Hookers and Booze?
From the Bike The Drive website:

5:30 a.m.: Upon police approval, Lake Shore Drive will open to bicyclists.
9 a.m.: Bicyclists may not enter Lake Shore Drive; participants must be north of Randolph Street or south of Roosevelt Road
9:45 a.m.: Volunteers will help participants safely move to the Lakefront Trail, which they can take back to the post-ride festival
10:30 a.m.: Car traffic resumes on Lake Shore Drive
8 a.m. – noon: Post-ride festival at Grant Park
