Really, I've been pretty lucky re. bike and parts theft. Today was my first loss since 1985.
Tonight at around 6:30, my bike was parked on Olive St. just west of Clark, next to Coffee Studio and across the street from a junk shop (called Good Buy Garage, I think). Stolen was a regular old Brooks B-17 (honey) on a SoMa seatpost. Nothing special about the saddle or the post, but it's a bummer when several thousand miles of saddle breaking-in (my history!) is lost.
There's obviously nothing that can be done about this, but I'd ask my Chainlink friends to:
1) If you see someone trying to sell this saddle/post combo, give them a dirty look; and
2) Join me in wishing the thief some appropriate bad karma.
The one thought I always have in situations where I've been victimized, is that I've been blessed in my life to have the character and the circumstances that I've never had to be a thief, etc. So at the end of this disappointing evening, the thief still loses, and I still win.
Finally, it was a beautiful day, wasn't it? I hope you all had as nice a day riding as I did.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Like your positive thinking. It could've been worse too.
"I've never had to be a theif." That almost justifies their existence, but this isn't stealing a loaf of bread we are talking about. It's likely more an issue of "I want" than "I need" most likely. It's not that you've had such better circumstances, you were just raised with respect imho. I'll be sure to wish plenty of bad karma their way.
Yes, a beautiful day. I spent a few hours of it doing bicycle advocacy ftw!

Sorry about your saddle. Things like that get to be part of us. But you are right--it is just a thing and we are pretty blessed to have been able to have things in the first place.
