are there any super fast weekly rides out there?

i just moved here from LA, I used to ride with wolfpack hustle. and I'm looking for a weekly ride that is really fast road/fix gear ride. are there any in chicago?

Check out this page. The Judson ride is usually pretty fast but it tends to be fairly unruly with people taking up two lanes of traffic and doing some semi-sketchy stuff. I think it might be at the very least indirectly responsible for some anti-bike legislation in one or two of the suburbs.

There's a weekly crit series that happens on tuesdays about 45 minutes outside the city and there's a series of crits that are supposed to be held by soldier field this summer.

I am not aware of anything quite like the wolfpack ride out here in Chicago. If that's your style, you might want to start one of your own.

The faster rides with S mentions are very road racer oriented.

There are a couple of racing teams that are composed of ex- and current messengers, but even their training rides tend to me more conventional and structured than the wolfpack. There are some informal and ad hoc urban rides and pub crawls, but again -- I don't think any of these are as fast/long as the ones you're used to.

Last sunday we did 40 miler with a 19.5 ave.
Starting at Cuba March Forest preserve. Start time 9:15am most sundays

Also These guys are fast paced riders with people going off the front alot.

is it all geared up road bikers? I dont ride with a helmet and it seems like all of these rides require one. and i ride a track bike. are there any rides at that start at night?

Pretty much all of the organized rides require helmets. I don't know of any night time rides that go fast. Like was said earlier, most of these rides are geared towards road racing types.
