I just popped into chifg to post sticker competition details, as I do every year... and the activity has dropped off to barely anything since last time I looked.
Does anyone have a sense of what happened there?
General terms please, not really looking to hear of any potential grievances with individuals and not looking for dirt, just want to understand why it lost steam.

Ironic ennui overcame them all. Fixed gear? Meh. ;-p
I don't know but I just logged in and love the forum layout :)) I've heard good things about Vanilla Forums.
Fixed gear bikes are OVER!
Seems like they're alive and kickin' at this chainlink thread...

To give a serious answer, Howard, I think that many of the original folks still check in, but don't spend a lot of time per visit. As a moderator on that forum for 5 years, I can tell you that many of the major threads are still very active. I still meet new people that recognize me from that forum who fully admit to simply reading old threads and lurking. As I said glibly there, but more seriously here, the activity on that board gets pretty slim during the summer.
For a not serious answer, I am absolutely not cool. A jerk? yes, maybe. But not cool.
I did see it, but didn't recognize anyone if that's the connection you're wondering about.
To add a bit to Charlie's response...
I really appreciate the etiquette on ChiFG. Participants post their topics to existing threads and the moderators are really good about directing people to the appropriate thread for their topic. Redundant threads quickly sink through appropriate moderation and there's a lot less duplicate topics allowing for easy searches. ChiFG's For Sale/Trade, Want To Buy, and Bike Porn threads are some of the best around.
Charlie may be a jerk ;) but he's totally cool and in an awesome cover band, Soundtrack Serenade, that regularly performs tributes at Quenchers. Check 'em out!
