The six-day Chicago Match Cup will take place at Navy Pier, the number one tourist destination in Chicago from August 6th through 11th, 2013. The natural amphitheater of the Chicago waterfront framed by Navy Pier provides the ideal stadium for spectators- sailing enthusiasts and general public alike; to enjoy this all the racing action. Running alongside the Chicago Match Cup will be the magnificent Tall Ships for attendees to view, board, and cruise throughout the week.  This unique, two-for-one event where modern match racing meets maritime history in Chicago is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to enjoy all the windy city has to offer.

This weekend looks like it will be amazing out so if you find yourself looking for a destination to bike too head over to Navy Pier. World class Match Racing will be taking place at the end of the Pier and there are Tall Ships in town as well. I would be there but will be out on the lake myself.

Is this why I saw what looked like pirate ships when I was riding home from work last night? I thought we were about to be pillaged.

No, those were the Tall Ships!

It is going to be a busy weekend on the lake with a few regattas going on in addition to the "pirate ships".
