can you look up a swatch that i may reference?

ok.  how much ya need?

hi again..  i am painting one wall (10 x 20) in an accent color which I tried to match at the paint store yesterday.  the closest color matches they had were these:

Sherwin-Williams:  Tranquil Aqua  SW 7611

Sherwin-williams:  Mountain Stream SW 7612

Or,

Benjamin Moore, Jamestown Blue  HC-148

Benjamin Moore, Buxton Blue  HC-149

The blue is the right shade but I'd like it to look "lighter " on the wall.. not sure how to do that.

Then I need a light color taupe (with hint of gold tone) for the rest of the place (2 gallons is more than enuf).  did not get color swatch for that though..

Thanks for getting back to me.!

i can blend all these on wednesday.

kelley, i dont need an exact swatch, but give me a reference for the taupe if ya can.

start here... http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/vintagetaupe#ce_s=taupe

landed a job interview for tomorrow.  might not be able to mix the paint just yet.

nailed the blue.  hope the taupe works

I just noticed this post. Do you still have paint that you are willing to mix? I have a few rooms and my studio that I would love to paint. Let me know and I will give you colors and quantity.

we still got plenty to go around.  just not the whites.

Hey there Iggy...

I'm looking to obtain some paint to touch up the many, many chips and scratches on my bike.  Are you able to match paint from a small bike part?  The part that I can remove (and not affect the ridability of my bike) is the chain keeper.

i wouldnt recommend this paint for a bike.

Got it thanks.  However, I'll pick your brain for a minute if I may?

Would a place that paints cars be a good place to go to source a paint match for my bike and what kind of paint should I get... latex, oil, watercolor, fingerpaint?!  ;-)

But seriously, what type of paint should I be asking for when I go to paint shops?

Thanks for any insight!!

painting a bike, to do it right, you need the equipment as much as the paint.  you want a spray on lacquer or enamel. even a spray can, its just not right. and you need the perfect conditions. no wind, no dust, and you need curing time - not just drying time - for the paint to really take hold. and then you need to do it again with a clear coat.  and all that is assuming that you already completely stripped down your bike of old paint.  otherwise, it will just look like shit.  if you dont care for perfection, then go for it.

if you are looking for a pro finish, you are still looking at stripping the original paint down to bare metal regardless.  an autobody shop should be able to do it.  i would make friends with someone in a shop, and ask them to use some paint from a car they are painting to give your bike a few coats.  its more intesive to set up, mix, and then dissasemble and clean the equipment than to actually paint it.  it take moments to paint a bike, with so little surface. but you still need the conditions.

im no pro, these are just my observations.
