I'm glad you at least know some Latin.

could you yell at them on the way down, from a window?

I work six floors above the RTA offices. Want me to go downstairs and yell at them?

Incidentally, I glossed over your Latin phrase at the end and came to the same conclusion, "Bread and circuses."  Then, upon closer examination I realized you had closed with the same conclusion, but in Latin.

Either way, I hope the parade is enjoyable and certainly wouldn't wish rain (or other ill will) on whatever "parade" you may be looking forward to (if I recall correctly, you're training for the Marathon, I hope you have great weather like last year).

Scotto, you should have not just translated that phrase, but check out what it means. Wikipedia might have an article on it.

And, Adam, it's not WHAT guvment allowed (or not) to do, it's WHY. No?

Dollars to doughnuts they won't let the folder on.

....not even in a bike bag. Union Pacific conductors do not understand the Metra rules.

Accommodating is not a word found in the Metra vocabulary.

Igz, you could borrow my skateboard, ...but I live out in Des Plaines now :(

Same here, but a stiff wind the might possibly accompany rain on October 13 would certainly adversely affect (or effect, I can never get that right) your effort.

I will run in any weather, Scotto, just like I'd ride :)
You should join us on beer expeditions. Always enjoyable!

I got one I'd lend you.

a logical convo would be appreciated.

 so..about that skateboard...

They're probably not Serge.  Metra is smart for banning alcohol since there will be enough people already pretty sauced getting on their trains.  I believe they can deny a highly intoxicated passenger from boarding a train anytime anyway.

The bike ban is silly in the way it's being implemented.  They should be excluded only from trains that will be filled to capacity due to the parade.  But like Will said it's easier to tell a child not to touch something than to tell that child ok to touch here but not here.

Didn't pay attention before . . . Since when bikes are equated to alcohol?

It's time for a beer!    edit: I'm thirsty!

E tu, Richard . . . ;)

Damn drunk bikers. Get on the sidewalk!

kelvin, where abouts are you?

Humboldt. PM me if you're interested, can't follow this thread anymore...

It does say "blackout" in anticipation of people drinking too much.
