So, how does one get rid of a flat spot on a tire? I just changed a tube and notice that I had a severe flat spot on the tire.
The tire is new as was the replacement tube. I took the tire off several times and tried different ways to put it on to even it out. A bunch of the flatness went away. Still, there is a small spot now. Am really getting bugged knowing it is there.
Any mechanics/wannabes want to give me a clue?

If the tire is new I would take it/send it back to the point of purchase. I have not found any way to fix tires that were not round (I'm talking about cheap tubulars here).
OTOH are you sure that your rim is round? Because if the rim and therefore wheel has a flat spot, no tire on that wheel will be round.
I think they make a special shampoo for this, but results are not guaranteed unless you vigorously massage the shampoo into the flat spot for 15 minutes at least twice a day.
Do you regret it yet? :-)
