We need:

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Help set up tents outside, help post signs in the area to point the way to the event, help set up tables and recycling/trash collection

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Check-in/registration for attendees, answer questions, collect information for Ride Buddies, post information about Ride Buddies, hand out goody bags

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Assist instructors giving Safety Skill training, oversee bike corral to help people who want to try riding bikes, be a "runner" to communicate information around the event as needed.

1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Break down and clean up

2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Go to party at Simone's

Please post here what you can volunteer for.  Thanks.

I can do early.
Both the 7:30 & 9:00 if you need.

Great! I'll do 9-11 check-in and then I can be a runner or bike corral person from 11-1.

Sarah

Jenn, Sarah, thanks.  I am putting you down!

Barbara--I know "video person" is not on the list but if you are still interested we would be happy to have you do that.  Or, if you would rather do something else that is great, too.

I can help with the 9-11 and 11-1 shifts doing something.

I can help!  I re-started cycling this past October, and I've lost 50lbs since then :)  Still wellll into the "overweight" category for BMI, so I certainly look like an average person, rather than an intimidating uber-cyclist (someday, though...).

I can do the 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m assisting, and help with breakdown after that.

Sue, Christine, thank you.  Christine--amazing.  Will you be at the event at 9:00?  Our opening presentation will be about getting back on the bike after not riding for some time.  Your input would be encouraging.

Oooh.  I do love public speaking.  Sure, I can be there at 9!  Anything more I should know so I can prepare properly?

Christine--we have three people already making formal presentations, but we were thinking we might have time to "call on the audience" for experiences.  So the first thing is for us to be sure we introduce ourselves that morning so we can call on you,  and the second thing is that if you could say in 50 words or less why you started riding again, what kind of riding you do and what you see as the benefits, such as the weight loss but maybe there are other things that you like about riding now.

Wow - congratulations, Christine!

(Thinking to herself, "now, how come I haven't lost 50 lbs??")

Volunteers, we have a favor to ask.  We would like to be able to communicate with everyone.  Please e-mail a phone number (associated with your name;-)) to wbikechi@gmail.com.  Please let us know if you DO NOT want text messages.  Feel free to include an e-mail address, too.

Thanks again for your support.  And if there is anyone out there who has not yet volunteered but would like to do so, feel free to do it here and/or just send an e-mail.

To all volunteers, here is a link in case you need information about getting there and exact location:

If you are going to be outside helping with the bike corral or with the traffic safety skills, remember that standing around in the cold is not the same as riding your bike in the cold!  The weather forecast is dry, but probably at best upper 30s so extra layers will be needed.

If you are riding your bike, there are some racks right out in front of Addams Hall.  If you are volunteering your bike to be in the bike corral, we are going to try to have several volunteers responsible for it to be sure that bikes stay in the immediate area in which riding will be allowed.  To that end, we might be asking for extra help out there.

Please try to be there at least ten minutes before the time for which you volunteered.  Jennifer James is handling the "front of the house", so please check in with her.  Any questions, let me know or send them to the wbikechi@gmail.com address.  If you have not sent your phone number, please do.

Thanks to everyone.
