I come in on Clark (or Wells when the bridge work is done) and go out on Franklin/Orleans.  I find both better than Dearborn.  I've tried Dearborn southbound a couple times, never northbound.  I won't try it again until the plates are installed on the bridge.

I agree about the drift.  I went looking for the Dearborn thread yesterday but failed to find it.  Maybe I just didn't page back far enough.  Google to the rescue:

The last comment was on Feb 28, so I imagine the popularity of the Chainlink has just caused it to drift down the discussion list.  I promise I will make no more comments here about the Dearborn PBL.  Scouts honor...

Conditions are not great but are they really any worse than any other street?

This would all be appropriate in the Dearborn thread.

I won a free Pedaling with a Purpose gift certificate from The Chainlink good for one training class with Kristen Meshberg. For multiple reasons I cannot take advantage of this wonderful offer, so I am re-gifting it to the first Chainlinker who says yes.

There are three locations with differing times for the class: Chicago, 2003 W. Fulton, First Floor, Wednesdays 7-8:30pm and Saturdays 9-11:30pm; Hinsdale, Hartley's Cycle Shop, 24 W Hinsdale, Ave, Thursdays 7:30-9pm and Sundays 8-10:30am; and Oak Park, Greenline Wheels, 105 S. Marion St., Tuesdays 9:30-10:30 am. You can view Kristen's blog-site for more information by clicking here.

Awesome ride home. Turned onto Dearborn from Madison and hit every green bike until Kinzie. The lane was clear, Kinzie was clear, even the side streets in my hood were clear, which usually doesn't happen for a couple days after. Props to city.

Back on my bike for the first time since Friday, due to weather and some work issues.  Very happy to get six easy miles in...

GREAT ride in this morning even though I had to stay on Milwaukee.  So glad to be back on the bike.  When I started pedaling, I just got this warm fuzzy feeling . . .

Nice ride today through Rogers Park/Lakeview, the LFT, Gold Coast, and into the Loop.  I will not mention the street that shall not be named (even though I crossed it (-; ).

Hi Lisa. I'm pretty sure I saw you riding today and/or Monday also.

Do you ride past Washington and Clinton on your route ?

If not then it was you and your bike's "double"

(I take Milwaukee then Kinzie then Clinton to Washington)

Beautiful morning. Kinzie and Dearborn both in great condition. I have to admit that I'm getting a kick out of riding past the incredibly long line of cars on Kinzie.

It must be my good twin!  Did not ride down on Monday--I had Casimir Pulaski day off. ;-)  Today, Milwaukee to Kinzie to Dearborn.

26th, halsted 18th, the Roose. All good and warm weather. Even the autos seem happier today.

For 46th Ward Chainlinkers Only:

I am sending this for two reasons: to introduce myself as somebody other than the guy who rides the weird recumbent trike with flamingo and flags and also to ask for your vote in Alderman Cappleman's 46th Ward Awards. My son Sean sent the following to his condo associations, so I will let it speak on my behalf.

Hi friends - I hope you will do me a huge favor and vote online now (it only takes a few seconds) for my father who was nominated for a "46th Ward Award" (Good Neighbor / Individual) which will be presented at Alderman James Cappleman's upcoming event at the Holiday Club from 6-8 PM on March 14th (voting ends March 8th). Below I have included just a sample of his many volunteer community improvement activities. He does all of these without looking for recognition, simply because he believes strongly in making a better and safer neighborhood. His award category is #6 on the ballot. Click here to vote:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TF3ZRC5

Please feel free to forward this to other 46th ward residents who may be interested in voting for him, and (in true organizer fashion) please drop me an e-mail once you have voted.

Thank you, this really means a lot to me,

-Sean

Here are some of his many accomplishments in the community:

Held well-attended bicycle tours of Uptown, helping promote our neighborhoods.

As a member of Bike Uptown, helped to improve traffic flow in the ward to promote vehicle and pedestrian safety.

· Active participant in Alderman Cappleman's participatory budgeting initiative, helping to design a proposal to improve safety and walkability in the Montrose / Sheridan / Broadway intersection.

Through Buena Park Neighbors Association, participated in neighborhood trash clean-ups.

Accomplished photographer of the 46th ward, producing nature and building photos to promote our community. Created a book of 46th ward photography, coordinated photography of Buena Park Neighbors events and has had 46th ward photos published on NBC-TV and the Chicago Sun-Times.

Worked with Northside refugees from the genocide in Sudan / Darfur to help them share their stories and adjust to life in their new community.

Participated frequently in "Positive Loitering" - helping to increase safety in high-crime intersections.

Publicizes volunteer, charity and community improvement projects through work at the United Brotherhood of Carpenters

(For those of use who only remember their ward when looking at their voter registration card)
