The ridiculous comment about bicycling being bad for the environment is not at all that surprising...but a Republican that actually wants to raise taxes? I THINK HELL HAS FROZEN OVER. Obama better get in touch with this guy.

Yeah, he was forced to revise his statement. Despite his ridiculous e-mail, I am impressed that he e-mailed a constituent back!

Yes, I understand that putting in bike lanes cost money, but I honestly think putting an extra tax on bicycle purchase to pay for it would not work at all. Let's face it, many many many more people drive than cycle. And considering most people ride their bike into the ground, maybe buy a new bike every 5/10/NEVER years, how much could they possibly raise that way??
